  • Rendering Ocean mode with true size not infinite?

    Hey there,

Is there a way to render water sim in ocean mode but not infinite, just the area I want it?

I am trying to simulate water from a tap falling in initially filled up sink? The render below shows an example of the sim with "Mesh" rendering mode.

Once I switch the render mode to "Ocean" it will logically create an infinite ocean like the example below.

So the question is whether there is a simple trick to cut/collide the Ocean to the size of the sink?
I have done the same sim with two Liquid simulators(one for the water which comes from the tap and one for the sink) but then it gets too complex controlling the two simulators...
I could still trick it and achieve what I want with the current situation, but I was just thinking that would have been nice if there was a way, I don't know of

    Thanks!

If you want to fill the sink there are two options:

    1. Set your simulator size to be the size of the sink and use the initial fill up option. It will fill your grid with a percentage of the container.
    2. Create a dummy geometry like a cube inside the sink and from it's Phoenix Properties (right-click menu) turn on Initial Liquid Fill.

you can use boolean to cut off the area outside the box
