  • Comet? Worth a shot?

Hello, I have a project I want to do that involves a comet. I realize that many of the features of the fluid sims involve gravity/buoyancy but I was wondering if it was worth attempting to do some cold whispy like tendrils in Phoenix. (I don't have Krakatoa, was thinking vray point renderer.) Given that gravity and buoyancy (I would imagine) are not a factor here, should I stick to PFlow or is it possible to use Phoenix for this?

I would imagine that realistic scale wouldn't be a good idea considering some comets are miles across, am I off base there?

    Best Regards,

I did a meteor breakup ages ago with Phoenix, it is possible If I remember correctly it was a masked emission (noise map) with a plain force.. very simple It did require quite a high cell count though to pick up the finer points of the mask.

You could do similar but have it last longer and with drag particles maybe for the trail?
