fire preset with smoke

Hi,

The quick presets from PhoenixFD 3 is really handy, but when I am using the fire preset, I want there also generate smoke (so it will be more realistic). I checked the smoke channel output; I set fire to use its own opacity, but still couldn't get a nice looking result.

Could someone please share settings or tips regarding this?

Hello,

It really depends on the type of result you're after.

Here are two examples of thicker and lighter smoke.

For the thicker one I used Smoke Opacity Based on Simple Smoke. I changed the Fire mode to Own Opacity and increased the Fire Multiplier to 8.

For the Lighter One I shaded the Smoke by the Smoke channel and set the second point for the Curve to 0.3. Fire mode is set to Own Opacity, Fire Multiplier is 2.

For both of the setups I changed the last active curve point for the fire opacity to be closer to the middle.
