  • Frame rate simulation

    Hi,

First, i just want to say that your Phoenix Plug in is really cool !

I have a simulation of water on beach and need some infos about the timescale.

My movie will be play at 50 fps for theater and so the entire scene has to be set for 50fps.
When I render my simulation it looks like it's moving too fast. I assume I will have to reduce the timescale to 0.5 ?
Do the simulation will act correctly ? Because i don't want to do slow-mo. Just have it for a 50fps movie.

    Thanks

    Hey,

Maybe you could first try to alter the Play Speed in the Input panel and see how this would behave - this way you won't need to simulate the sequence all over again, unless you need any additional particle channels needed for blending the particle cache frames for the slower animation.

If you have any issues with this, please do share. The alternative would be the simulation time-scale, but it might change the behavior of the entire simulation.

    Hope this helps

      Hi,

      Thanks for you reply.

I will tried both ( play speed and time scale ) and see what's the best solution for me.

What about setting the main application framerate to 50fps? Wouldnt that do the same thing giving correct simulation?

          Hi,

I already set 3Dsmax to 50fps but that didn't affect phoenix simulation.
