  • Ratio and size and amount for foam / splash / mist ?

    Hi,

    I have been playing around PHX foam/ splash these days. Though PhoenixFD gives you total control of foam / splash / mist, in term of size and count multiplier. I was wondering if there are any "optimized" ratio of those type of particles to get realistic ocean splashes? What ratio should I set for Splash converting to Mist? What are the right amount and size relative to camera distance so I can get the realistic effect?

    Any suggestions are welcome,

    Hey Hammer Chen,

    In theory, the Ocean preset should set these to appropriate values which would work for all cases. However, if you find it disproportionate, please do share. The Quick Setups will undergo continuous improvement, so any suggestions are welcome

      Sometimes I reduce number of splash or foam to save sim time and increase their number by count multiplier (particle shader) after sim. The same idea could apply to the size of Mist; I might save some time by reducing its number but increase the size a bit. It could be great if next version of PhoenixFD have some auto balance of those parameters that user could have optimized results in term of quality and rendering time.

      Or a global control of foam/splash/mist particles, it's size and number. That would also be great.
