  • detailed viewport preview only after render

    hi,
i get a really useful detailed displaced viewport preview for the current frame for ocean mesh/ocean tex but only after rendering a frame. is there any way to see it before that ?
    thanks

this is by design. the displacement is too slow for the preview, and is calculated very coarse just to have some idea how big is
but when you are rendering, you have to calculate it with production quality, and once calculated why not to show it in the viewport

      Hi Ivaylo,
i thought as much, it was just wishful thinking really.
      thanks

Actually in the nightlies we fixed the super-detailed preview and it will not appear after rendering, because if you have a huge simulator, it may block your preview for a few minutes. We should add an option that allows you to control the mesh quality in the preview and this should make it less of a workaround and more like a feature.

        Cheers!

          hi svetlin,
a controllable mesh detail option would be great.
          thanks
