  • Phoenix Ocean Displacement looks chaotic

Using Phoenix 3, I started an ocean scene with the preset. When I render the scene, the displacement of the water for the ocean looks chaotic and the waves aren't moving naturally... what should I look at to stop the craziness?

I got it, the velocity for the default OceanTex was set to 13000+. Why would it be set to high for the default template?

With the Presets the scale of the scene is set according to the scale of the object you have used when selecting the preset. We tried to cover the cases when you use a huge and a tiny objects, but this probably needs more tweaking.

Can you send us a simple scene for the issue you are having?

If you make an OceanTex from scratch it should have a lot lower value.

        Hey,

There was an issue with this preset in the official 3.0. You should grab a nightly build with this fix and more changes and additions from nightlies.chaosgroup.com. Is you don't see Phoenix there, ask Support for access.

        Cheers!

Because of the customer, i cant send the scene, but the provided models werent the correct size, so we did have to scale them.
