    Hi,

I am currently trying to create a cloudy set around a huge spaceship.
Using the preset for cloud as a starting point is working great but the time lapse animation is not what I am looking for.
I want the clouds to remain static as long as the reactors aren't close enough to mess with the fluid.
I am trying to create a vortex effect with Follow path and it seems to be on the right track.
The problem is more about the whole cloud changing shape way too fast overall. I have a feeling it is because of the turbulence that is moving stuff, but if I don't use it the shape of the clouds is very artificial.

    HOW?
I need help otherwise i will only use one frame to have nice static clouds but boring and unrealistic....

    Hello,

In the Input panel you can set your mode to Direct Cache index and choose your frame from there. You can find more on the different modes here - https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...ireSmoke+Input

      Hey,

In the Clouds preset the noise texture is animated - the offset and the phase of the noise change over time. You can get rid of those (or just one of them) and just leave the turbulence and it should be enough to make the clouds static, but keep a more interesting surface.
