foam without water

I have seen a movie made with phoenix 2 or earlier that shows a cube full of foam without liquid...

how can I create this effect with the new phoenix 3? I need a step by step guide, please or better a sample scene.

because I have to get foam on a surface without liquid underneath, or in other words it should create foam on a certain frame and it should disappear a certain frame...

From what you describe - the easiest thing to do is to use Pflow for the particle generation and use the Particle Shader to render them as a foam.
