Is there a way to specify which server should run the Phoenix simulation when I use the Submit To Backburner menu? Right now it's defaulting to whatever system is running the Backburner Manager but that is not my fastest server so I'd like to change it.

Hey,
You could create a Backburner Group and submit the simulation to it, but this is relatively new and was not in the official 3.00.02 - if you don't have nightly builds access, drop a mail to support@chaosgroup.com and ask for permissions for https://nightlies.chaosgroup.com/main#/phoenix3max
Hope this helpsSvetlin Nikolov, Ex Phoenix team lead

I've been experimenting with the latest nightly build and the backburner grouping works great. However, I'm noticing an issue that when a simulation is completed by a backburner server, it's not releasing the simulation license. Even after a sim has been completed, I can't start up a simulation on my workstation without closing and reopening 3ds max.

Hello,
What version of the License server are you using? Can you try with the latest one - you can get it from here - https://download.chaosgroup.com/?product=48
