  • Suggestions for UI improvements and backburner submission

Hiya - so after sending a job to Backburner to simulate - presumably this is only the selected simulation, not ALL simulations? - again, the DOCS need improvement.

So working on the assumption it's only the selected simulation - could the back burner job name actually reflect the simulation name? so it's not just a random serial number. this would help greatly for obvious clarity and control reasons.
    1. backburner job names based on simulation
    2. have the backburner submission button on the toolbar or part of the UI
    3. have the backburner submission be able to do all simulations
    4. have a standard "simulate all simulations" button in the UI - Phoenix is mature enough that we shouldn't have to poke around writing scripts

    Hi,
This is from the help page:
"The Backburner submission window creates a new job with a unique name each time it's Run. It simulates all selected Phoenix simulators in the scene in the order they were selected and then optionally renders out images. The simulation and render sequence length corresponds to the current length of the timeline."

Additionally, If no simulator is selected and scene is submitted through Backburner then all simulators in the scene would be simulated.

We approve our docs page constantly and we'll take in mind you sugestions.

Thanks I must have missed that when I was fumbling around for where to find the submission button. My apologies.

I think then, that it would help to have some more information on the submission button - additionally - the random name selection, whether it's mentioned in the docs or not - still isn't helpful.

Why not just generate a random id and append the name of the selected phoenix simulation? it's cant be that hard.

Additionally, say now for example, I am not sure whether I was submitting all my jobs with the sim selected, so I have 5 jobs in the queue and I don't know what they are for.

With your information I will delete them and resubmit - but you can see why exactly having some details on the submission is useful.

I'm sure there is a way to pack all of that information onto the backburner submission dialogue.

Thank you very much for those suggestions - indeed they sound pretty useful to have.

I will add them to the to do list and I hope we can implement them soon.
