  • Randomize Rollout

I'm curious how the randomize options in the dynamics properties are calculated. Docs say it works with vorticity so if you set randomize amount to 0.2, does that mean it randomized the vorticity parameter by 0.2 or is there more going on than that?

    Thanks!

    Hi,
Randomize is a saw-like function and the amount parameter is the amplitude of this function. It modifies the velocity and can produce unpredicted results. Dynamics parameter is the frequency of the function.

      Got it - Thanks!

We'll update the docs, as the info is quite scarce. Things to watch out for are that the Randomization function does not work with vorticity - both might complement each other during simulation, but there is no direct link between the algorithms. Also, the Dynamics is how fast the random noise changes in time.
