How come CPU usage is at 50%

So I'm running a PFD simulation any my CPU usage is fluctuating between 40% and 60% - what's up with that? Why isn't it at 100% going strong?

I guess PFD is CPU only for sims?

Flip sims are more reliant on memory speed and in/output speed of your drives etc

Oh god! that explains a lot.

I am simulating across a network to a normal HD - I wonder if it would be better to simulate to a local SSD drive then copy?

I generally sim to a local SSD then copy files over to network location for farm rendering once happy with it

Would love to know if M2 drives would offer much benefit over SSD for PhoenixFD.

There was a thread a few months ago where someone mentioned they were not getting decent speeds from an M2 and switched back to using SSD, I have no official results etc just remember that thread.
