  • Building velocity field?

Is there a good way to build a custom velocity field? I need like a spot-light field where there is a cone shaped blast emitting from a point. I thought about a wind, but that affects everything on one side of the wind and I need the "air" around the blast cone to remain static for good vortices. I'm kind of tempted. So like what I need is to animate a shotgun blast of boxes through the sim to impart the velocity but only partially instead of 100% like a solid object moving through. I guess another way to think of what I'm trying to accomplish is the air out of a straw.

Can't you do what you suggested and do a shotgun hit of particles to stir stuff up

I'm afraid you would see the little individual bits. Although if they were smaller than the grid size...

I'm working on a solution that 90% works using path follow and like CFD style grid of splines.

If I built a force field in stoke is there anyway to apply it as a force or am I limited to the built in Phoenix helper forces?

        Hello,

Currently the Stoke field won't affect the Phoenix simulation, but I will make a note about it in our to do list.
