  • Not enough drive space. How to move to another disk drive.

    Hello guys!

I'm new using PhoenixFD and I have a problem to run my very first test.
I press play after I placed my first Phoenix Box simulation in the view port.

Now MaYa is getting me this message (see image attached).
I bought a special disk drive for the simulations, but how can I now move all my future simulations to that specific disk drive?

    I will appreciate any support.

    Cheers!

    Hello,

You will need to change your output path for the simulator node. You can check our docs page here - https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/PHX3MAYA/Output for more info on that.

        Hi Georgi!
I'm sorry for the dum question, but I'm new using it.

        Thank you for your support!

          What?
Yes! And it is only a 12 Meters x 5.7 Meters
I just only press for the very first time on the button "create Phoenix FD Fluid Simulator"
Draw a box with the dimensions on the top and when I press Play "Start Simulation" is the message I get.

You will need to adjust your cell size as well in the grid settings panel in order to reduce your simulation resolution.

Check out our quick start videos on Phoenix - https://youtu.be/5i1grQXytt8 and https://youtu.be/L_UwP61dqis

              Thank you Georgi.
That is what I'm doing now

I need to understand how the Fluids from CG works
Maybe 12 Meters x 6 Meters is way too big?
              Dont know.

              EDIT:
I thought I just draw a Fluid like in MaYa and then I can start to play
But looks like need some training

                  Hi Ihno!
Well when you came from MaYa FX is a bit different

After I saw the Videos that Georgi post I understood - that you need to select objects before start to simulate something.

But thank you now Im on the right path after your comments

Next step is to understand if I can do the simulation with my nVidia card (GPU) at the moment is running nice with the CPU, but I will like to stress also the GPU.
Actually there is a GPU Shade preview, but let see if I can run everything in my GPU

GPU simulation and rendering of Phoenix FD are still not supported, though we have them in our to do list.
