  • Fruits falling into water

Hi we want to simulate fruits falling into water. those tiny air bubble you see in the image are they done through Phoenix foam/splash? or actual finely detailed liquid sim?
And if we must use foam are there any good settings for this kind of scene

    Thanks

    Hey,

If you use the Particle Shader for those, they will all be spherical. You definitely have to let the liquid form air pockets in the first place. Just then you could add some underwater foam bubbles to enhance the effect.

We do have a tutorial for a similar setup in the making - Gosho.Genchev would be able to tell when we can publish it so you can check it

    Cheers!

      Hey cb LCC,
as Svetlin has already mentioned, we are currently preparing a tutorial on the same topic which should be published by the end of the week.

When creating effects like this, it is necessary to use a fairly high resolution grid - this will allow the liquid to form the air pockets as the fruits displace the liquid particles. For reference, the tutorial file has a resolution of ~70 million voxels. Other than that, there is really nothing special that you need to know. In our scene, we use Initial FIll and Cap Mesh rendering mode; the substeps are set to 5, and the Scene scale is increased for a more dramatic splash.

      Cheers

Thank you! Will it be available on your main youtube channel ?

I spent a couple of week end of last year doing a strawberry falling into a champagne glass and the particle shader is very helpful, foam took a lot of fiddling to get right. I also had to use weird scene scales and unusual tricks to to control the overall im (don't bother using physcially correct sizes)
looking forward to seeing the updated tutorials though
