How did the newer features make it into the nightly 10 days ago but not into the next minor release? This is what infuriates me, that you can just drop support halfway through and leave us in the cold. I bought it when it was promoted as compatible with 2013 and up, all free minor versions included. That shouldn't change, it's your responsibility. By the looks of it maybe you've fixed some bugs, and as indicated in this thread, supplied some needed functionality.

If you're adding so much to it that it's breaking compatibility, then those features should be listed in a Phoenix FD 3.5 and you can ethically state the lack of support for the versions that can't perform them.

      Hey,

I'm sorry if there was misleading info promising that all legacy Max and Maya versions will be supported by all upcoming Phoenix 3 nightlies. Since the first Phoenix 3 for Max and Maya, we already dropped old Max and Maya versions in the nightlies a few times.

If there is demand for older Max or Maya versions, the next official release of Phoenix would include them - there just won't be nightly builds until then so you won't be able to beta test WIP features in the nightlies with old Max and Maya versions. This is basically identical to how V-Ray versions work.

      Cheers!

Thanks Svetlin, that's definitely a breath of fresh air in lieu of this. I think the bulk of 2013-14 users probably have no idea this was even on the radar (including myself). If you announce it I'm sure you'll get the feedback you require.

No problem, that's very important for me to know as well. Usually Phoenix drops a version when V-Ray does and when that happens, usually Phoenix can't compile for that version anymore. This is the first time we've had to move ahead of things, but currently I think it's still possible to compile a release build for 2013/2014. It would however save us a lot of trouble if we don't have to build nightlies every day. Also, if this helps - I can't share info on upcoming releases, but it won't be long from now

That's great, I'm looking forward to it. And thanks for taking a pulse, doctor!

As a show of appreciation and support I'll also purchase another sim license upon release.

                  Where can we find these?
