Had the customer ask for a near 3 meter wide render of one of our Phoenix images. I set the render width to 18000 pixels, and the water outside of the grid won't render. If I change it to 1800 pixels wide, it does render. Anything I can do about this?

Hey,
You are out of memory when generating the ocean surface. The ocean is a mesh which is generated from the camera view and each pixel creates one or several polys depending on the Ocean Subdivs option. This is why if you increase the resolution to huge values, you won't have the memory for the mesh unless you reduce the Ocean Subdivs.
There is an error about this in the Phoenix log file, but we don't pop a message box because it could block your sequence render and Phoenix still does not have a pop-up status window like V-Ray where such errors should appear.
Try lowering the Subdivs to less than 1.
Cheers!Svetlin Nikolov, Ex Phoenix team lead
