    You could, but then the cool air would sink down. Which is accurate, but for large scale sims you would want to be able to maintain the layering like the atmosphere.

      It will go down, if the temperature is below 300. But it should work, if it is not cooler than the air. Maybe? I have to do a quick test.

        Indeed, sounds like a job for a brush source, but with careful adjustment of the placing and the temperature...

          Agree that can work, but then your grid size would need to be rather large to accommodate large layers of the colder air.
