  • Question about the free to download Ship scene

I've downloaded the ship scene that was in the latest newsletter and I have a couple of questions about the scene.
Is there any reason for the simulator object to have a local scale of 2000%. Thae same about the ship model. Why does that have a local scale of 5%?
Why is the system unit scale 20cm = 1 unit? Would the simulation work where 1unit = 1cm? Can you merge a simulator from a 20cm=1unit scene into a 1cm=1 uni scene? (I couldn't)

    Regards
    Barnabas

    Hey there,
the Ship example scene was created a while ago by one of our colleagues for a Youtube tutorial. There, he messes with the units to make a point that Phoenix can work in pretty much any Units setup, as long as you pay attention to the values shown in the Grid tab of the simulator.

The written tutorial in the docs page is much more recent and the file is clean, with a reasonable unit setup. The result is also identical to the example scene. You can use that instead.

edit: Here's the tutorial link: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...p+in+the+Ocean
