I am confused (again lol). Which Phoenix nightly can I use with Vnext? With all these Vnext beta (stable, nightly 2 and 3) out I dont know what to use anymore.

Currently you should use the Phoenix builds tagged with vray4 in the name. They will work only with the latest official beta of V-Ray Next, until V-Ray Next is officially out.
So, just to clarify, because I don't understand either, sorry.
Which is the newest combination of Phoenix and Vray nightlies that work? I just downloaded the two newest, and they don't. Should I download an earlier V-ray? Which? Thanks.

In this case you must use a nightly before 28282, and it will be compatible with V-Ray Next Beta 3. If you are using an older beta, you can check under the Announcements topic which Phoenix nightly dates correspond to which V-Ray Beta.
Hi Svetling, thanks for your patience. Sorry for being daft, but I have no clue how to translate that into information about what nightlies I should download.
First, I can't find anywhere in the announcements a list of corresponding releases between Vray and Phoenix FD.
Second, what do you mean a "nightly before 28282"? All the Phoenix nightlies are called 31-something or 30-something, unless we go back to version 2?
I'm looking for the highest compatible nighlies for Vray and Phoenix FD I can download without a Next licence, because I'm still testing out. All combinations I've tried have led to Phoenix DLL load errors.
Thanks

Each nightly on nightlies.chaosgroup.com is in a zip file - check out the number they have - this is the build ID and is the 5-digit number you need to track
You can use the build IDs or dates of the posts to determine which build is compatible with what V-Ray build:
- From Dec 16 to Feb 23 - nightlies are compatible with V-Ray Next Beta 1 (on the nightlies site you can see that there aren't any "vray4" builds before that)
- From Feb 24 to Apr 02 - nightlies are compatible with V-Ray Next Beta 2
- From Apr 03 to May 23 - nightlies are compatible with V-Ray Next Beta 3
- From May 24 onward - nightlies are compatible with V-Ray Next Official
