  • Sim output naming

    Hi,
I thought phoenix defaults to outputting prefix with the name of the current scene file ? Only asking since it just randomly labelled the cache files ND99141_PhoenixFDFire001_...
    thx

    Hey,

Check out here what $(scene_dir) gets expanded to: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...put-Parameters

    Cheers!

      Fair enough !
I guess I must have typed the output name before. Been a while since using phoenix, maybe I forgot.
      thanks

I was just changing the default format btw - I think the node handle number can go from the file name - without removing it, we can't have proper instancing of simulators. Furthermore, in Maya the cache name is only composed of the object name and frame.

This change will hopefully be in the nightlies next week.

        Cheers!
