  • 3ds Max: Gaps between liquid emissions (milk and chocolate tut)

Also wrote to Support on this, but I thought I'd try it here also, for fellow user feedback....

I'm trying the milk and chocolate tutorial, and everything is going reasonably close to the turotial's results, until I add velocity to the emission, and my liquid sources suddenly only emit on frames 0,2,4 etc, leaving gaps in the stream that are clearly not in the tutorial.

I've tried increasing simulations steps, but that just makes the steps smaller, there's still space between the emissions.

I'm going to continue with the tutorial, and I'm sure some of the later settings will smooth out this error a bit, but since there's an obvious difference between the tutorial and my results, I'm very interested in digging into the issue.

    Thanks.

    /Jonas

    Hello,

We had a bug in the official 3.11 builds, get a nightly build and should look a lot better. Following the tutorial steps afterwards should give you the desired results.

    Thank you,

Thanks Georgi, that helped immediately! When will this be in an official download? (or, I'll have to instruct my client to get access to nightlies also)

It will make it in the next official release but unfortunately I can't say when this will be.
It's best to use the nightlies for now.
