  • Cascading Issue

Hey Guys, when cascading my liquid, i get some kind of horizontal lines inside the container in witch i am cascading in. Like in the picture below.
Is there a way to fix this ?
    i am using phx v 3.11.00 for maya 2018

    thanks.

Hmm, how many steps per frame do you have and what particle channels do you export to the cache files in the Output rolllout?

    Cheers!

Hey, the first container runs with 4 steps per frame, the second with 12. Velocity and Temp/Liquid are enabled in the output channel rollout.

Hmm, can you try to use the same number of steps per frame for both simulators? I think this might be what is causing this.

You could do a very fast test by going to the Grid rollout and reducing your grid sizes by Z for both simulators, so you can get a thin slice with the same voxel size - this way the simulation dynamics will be the same and you will be able to quickly try out different steps per frame for both simulators.

Please ping me if this helps or if there is still an issue.

        Cheers!

Hey, thanks for the quick reply! Increasing steps per frame helps , but it looks like i need lots of steps for getting a smooth transition witch means huge simulation time again. I am afraid there is no smarter way of doing it , right ?

I'm afraid I can't think of any - sometimes you can get away with differing settings, but in order for one of the simulations to look like a natural continuation of the other, it's best to keep the settings for both identical...
