  • Small scale liquid jumping

I am having an issue while simulating a small scale liquid. I simply created a default Phoenix container that is 200x200x30 at 0.002m, set the X, Y, and Z to jammed with initial fill of 50 and hit sim. The liquid gradually becomes more and more chaotic until around frame 100 it is fully jumping around the container wildly. There are no forces, sources, or scene geometry involved in the simulation and it is all default settings.

Is this an issue with small scale perhaps?

    Phoenix 3.11.00

    Thanks!

Update: I scaled up the simulation 10 times larger; 200x200x30 at 0.02m and now the liquid is mostly calm (however now the scale is incorrect).

Thank you for the quick reply! As suggested in that thread, increasing substeps definitely increases stability for small scales and the explanation makes sense.

        Thanks again!
