  • Can we fix that boiling once and for all ?

Really annoying and it looks weird. Also, it is known issue for about I dunno half a year. Maybe more. Still can't understand, why it is not realtime priority

P.S. Frame 90. And the q - why water is so noisy ?

Ha. even the sign is bugged First time see it!

So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

Heh Yeah, feels like that. Also the closed boundary edge waves and so on. I think, it is time to fix it. Because if it's working like this - you just can't create good looking shoreline animation at all. It always boils, reflects smth, generate foam at structures, that are quite questionable, noisy water surface is still smth odd to me. Hope phx guys won't be like autodesk with bugs that are here since max3

Hang in there, my colleagues are looking at it. If it's the same issue, it's gonna be bumped even higher in priority. If it's not fixed yet, you can imagine there are other tasks going on, blocking other clients or more often colleagues. Will first check if it's the same issue as Peter's. Regarding questionable structures, are you completely sure you are not using open geometries again and can you show specifically what do you mean?

Looks like the same issue as Peter's. Gonna bump the issue more and I hope to get to it soon.

Btw, no temp workaround for this occasional velocities added ?

Okay, seems the scenes I have for the wave force boiling when there is geometry on the bottom of the ocean are now working fine.

Paul Oblomov , I'm starting to look at your scene. If you like, you can send over a scene for the velocities, since it might not be the same thing.

No, it is the same scene. Maybe different scale...

I see no phx nightlies since 18. Any ideas?

Changes get moved from the working code branch to the nightlies 1-2 days later, when all tests are green.

There were no changes to the ocean FLIP sims the last week though - Peter's scene and another once that sounds like the same issue seem to be working with a latest nightly.

Your scene has some liquid bubbling in one place, creating foam, and ultimately this seems like something else. It happens even with a latest nightly, so you don't need to grab new builds yet.

Pardon me for jumping in Svetlin... with the new nightly installation, will the existing grid/container automatically adapt the new code, or will I need to recreate the simulation from scratch inside the new version?
                        Thanks,

                          Hey,

If you are happy with the simulation, you don't need to simulate again and can just render with the newer nightly builds. In this case specifically I think you already have a build that simulates fine?

                          Cheers!

Nightly 28817 fixed the issue with dragging on the front of the moving container, yet still drags water on the container sides, creating unwanted splash and resulting foam (workaround = birth volume). I was curious if simply installing the new 28853 would use my existing container setup or do I need to recreate a new container within the new version? No worries either way.
