  • exploding particles in wave force sim

Im having these exploding particles (?) in this scene I'm working on. It was present in a 10m grid and then again in a 50m grid (attached)
I feel like the water is boiling as well .....but Im more concerned about the flickery exploding particles at the moment. Any ideas cos it took bloody ages to sim and renders insanely slow (2hr frames) once the particles start building up (splash, foam and mist as points and all set to no scatter, no shadow)

    Max 2017
    Vray 3.6.03
    Phoenix 3.04.00 Build ID: 170609

I cant upgrade to the current phoenix for another month or so due to the IT system here...so if there is a fix in that i might be in trouble

Motion blur.... Try to cut those area with a box cutter. I think that will help. And it shouldn't by that slow to render. Lower moblur step at shader point settings.
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

Hmm thanks. have motion step pretty low allready on the foam, splash and mist (0.005m) and have added a cutter just above the sim and doing some tests now

      edit
lowering the step in point shader makes it super slow. the box cutter works though

        Hey,

We did quite a lot of fixes since 3.04 so when you get the chance make sure to update Phoenix to the latest version.

Indeed lowering the step will have a render hit so make sure to adjust this carefully.
