  • Foam and splash shaders for 3DsMax VRay GPU?

I did find some earlier posts (summer 2018 - with the question "support for foam and splash shaders with GPU renderer": The answer was "it´s on the to do list". As I am not able to render it here (Phoenix 3.12, Vray Next Update 1.1 3dsMax 2019) i supppose it´s not implemented yet - Does anyone know a "workaround" (different shader?) to make foam and splash visible in GPU render - I am working on large scale ocean scenes with sim in the forgeground and my scenes are all GPU based setup....happy about any advice - thanks guys!

    Hello,

Indeed it's still in the to do list. There is a workaround though.

You can use a V-Ray Instancer node and pick the Foam and Splashes for the Particles and instance a sphere with a white V-Ray material assigned to it.
Just make sure to pick the particle groups from the Scene Explorer and not by selecting the simulator as this will select only the liquid particles.
