  • Mortion Blur on Ocean Mesh not showinf

I am rendering an ocean mesh and cannot get the motion blur to show/render.
    - I did enable velocity in the sim´s output tab for "output grid channel"
    - I did try higher settings for the motion blur in the sim´s rendering tab (higher then 1) also
    - My physical camera does have a shutter speed of 1(50) and I even did try longer shutter openings (1/25 etc.)

Still not getting motion blur on the ocean grid surfcae (using oceantexture and fomatexture).

Am I missing something out? I guess motion blur is available for the ocean grid, right?

    Hey,

The motion blur of the actual displaced waves is available in Max and not available in Maya. Motion blur for the simulated fluid is available everywhere. Are you using 3.12? I checked here and my scene seems to work, so could you send yours over?

    Cheers!

      Svetlin,

I am on PhoenixFD 3.12 and 3dsmax2019 (latest built).
Attached the max file (just left the relevant ocean and light elements in the scene).

        Hey,

In your scene the ocean is moving really slow and the Shutter speed is set to 1/50 so that's why you don't see anything.

Set your Motion blur to seconds and set it to 2 or increase the speed of your Ocean texture and you will notice the blurring.

Ok - I had put the shutter much slower already but I guess that then was still not enough. Will figure it out now that I know it´s realted to those settings.
Thank you very much for investigating my scene!

          Cheers,
