  • Flickering paused smoke

I have a segment of an animation that just shows a paused section of smoke (it goes to the end end then stops and holds the frame)

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/e3glrdylgi...x_1_1.mp4?dl=0

In this segment of video you can see how the smoke holds, flickers, and then holds again.

At first I thought it might be different machines so I re-rendered all on the same machine,

It does this regardless of the quality settings I use for GI.

Can you shed any light on why it might do this?

Shouldn't happen, can you send the scene over?

      Hey,

By any chance are you using a V-Ray denoiser? Does it reproduce if you turn it off?

If you increase your Max transparency levels from the V-Ray options does it get better?

      Cheers,

It seems as if this is fully about adaptive lights - it doesn't happen with the full light evaluation mode. Do you still want to see the scene or is it not worth it?

Oh yes, it would be important for the V-Ray guys - if possible, please send it over.

          Cheers!
