Im seeing a edge around any object that is a matte object. Haven't seen this before but any thoughts?

It does not appear that your object is a true matte. I assume its the car? the white edge around there though suggest that everything is rendered not against black bg and there is an alpha premultiplication issue. Did you render against black bg?Dmitry Vinnik

Yes its rendered with a black background. I just used a white background in comp to show the edge better. I still see the edge no matter what color the background color is. Yes the car is the matte object for the dust and what do you mean a true matte? I use the vray properties to create the object as a matte object and I also tired the wrapper material just to be sure.

Here is a test scene with the same issue. I have a aur file that will need to be loaded on frame 23 through phoenix or a volume grid. The sphere should be a matte object for the dust render.Attached Files

Is this all one render, or is the smoke rendered separate from the vehicle? How are you combining them together? If they are rendered separately and matting each other out, they will need to be added/plussed together, including adding the alphas together.
