  • Particle Tuner does not seem to engage

Perhaps I'm doing something really wrong, but this simple setup does not engage the Particle Tuner.

A simple liquid pour should stop the particles (set the speed to 0) after 1 second. It does not. Why not?

I also tried modifying the Particle Tuner to change viscosity to 1.0 after 1 second (0.01 sec buildup time). Likewise, no viscosity was changed, if you try this modification and Preview viscosity.

What's going on? 3dsmax demo file attached.

    Thanks.

Also, is there a way to include and exclude Particle Tuners from specific simulations other than turning them on and off individually?

    Hey,

Thanks for the scene! I've went through your scene setup and saw that you have set the Time Scale in the Dynamics rollout to 0.25. This will delay the Particle Tuner's effect.

For example, if you set the Particle Tuner's expression to change the condition of a particle with Age greater than 1, but the Time Scale is set to 0.25 - the result will be visible after the 120th frame not at the 30th.

If you need to exclude a Particle Tuner, add it to the Exclude List of the simulator which is located in the Scene Interaction rollout.

    Hope that helps!

That does help. Thank you for explaining why!
