  • Liquid Simulation invisible in batch/commande line render (Maya)

    Hi,

A really strange behaviour is happening to one of my scene. I have setup a very simple scene with un object filling up. I don't have a problem with the simulation itself but more with the rendering. I'm posting on the Phoenix FD forum cause the render issue only affect the simulation...
So, while trying some render settings with my computer (and another computer connected with Distributed Rendering) and got correct results on the V-Ray Frame Buffer. Meaning that my simulation was rendering correctly.
But whenever i send that work throught command line render or if I start a batch render directly onto the Maya interface, the whole simulation output mesh is invisible (no shadows, no occlusion masking).
I tried several different render settings but i can't get it to work.

    Any ideas ? I don't see myself rendering/saving manualy 70 frames...

    Thanks you very much !

Hey, have you looked up maya batch rendering in the docs? You have to take special care for the cache paths.

    Cheers!

Ahhh thank you very much !

Effectively i didn't uderstood what's explained in the docs at first. But i had to resimulate it. Renaming the path from the base simulation and the one from the resimulation was not enough.

Thank for pointing me that specific point.

Ahh, let me update the page with Resimulation info as well.

        Thank you!
