We're using Phoenix 4.00.00 with Maya 2018 and V-Ray Next on Windows 10. Sometimes we get jobs that hang or more likely quit on startup, after loading the phoenixfd plug-ins but prior to running the sim. We're not seeing any messages and the issue happens on the farm, so we don't notice the problem until the next morning when we inspect the log files.
What I assume is happening is that licenses are exhausted due to other users running sims, and the phoenix job is not reporting any errors and exiting without returning a failure status. You can re-run the same job later with the exact same parameters and it succeeds on the same machine (so its not a core-memory exhaustion issue).
On the idea this is a license exhaustion issue, what behaviour should I expect to see from mayapy when all licenses are in use and a sim is attempted?
