I'm running into an issue with my boat wake simulation where the water behind my boat has a large cavity in it, followed by a large swell of water. It doesn't seem to matter if the boat is traveling 5 mph (8 kph) or 24 mph (38.6 kph). I believe my scene is scaled correctly & my model is air tight. I'm using Maya 2020.2 & Phoenix FD v4.10.00. I'm relatively new to Phoenix FD, so any tips to alleviate this & improve my simulation would be appreciated. (I'm only simulating half the grid currently & I disabled splash & foam to display the issue)

It looks a little better with a full grid, but the transition around the corners of the boat & the wake behind the boat is very rough. Is it something to do with ocean subdivs, or mesh smoothness? Also, is it possible to create a wake with a clean separation between the middle & sides, with a V shape at the end? I'll attach a few examples below.5 Photos

When you want to get such waves that keep sliding over the ocean surface in order to produce such a V shape, sounds like you need to increase the Droplets Surfing option - check it out here: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...uid-Parameters
The rough pattern in the mesh behind the boat is interesting indeed. In the Preview rollout, what happens if you turn off Show Mesh and examine the liquid particles? Do they form such a shape as well? If so, then it would be more a matter of simulation settings. If this is the case, try raising the Steps per Frame to 2 and see how this affects it.

Sorry for all the trouble, but I'm having a problem with the simulation lining up with my boat's position. I've tried increasing ocean subdivs & Steps per Frame, as well as placing my boat in the Ship in ocean example scene. I have the boat & simulation animated moving forward in a straight line. My settings are similar to the ones I posted at the top. Thanks.1 Photo

Hey, it's okay - this is not your simulation, this is the ocean displacement. The displacement is an effect in the viewport and in the rendering, it is independent from the simulation. You can search the forums here, this question occasionally pops up I recommend that you use the Fade Volume under the displacement section in order to suppress the displacement near the ship geometry.
