  • Foam not simulating issue

    Hi

I am new to Phoenix and have been following the online tutorials, but have been having an issue with the speed boat animation I am producing. I can not seem to get the foam to produce/appear hoping this is an easy issue to fix.
The boat is moving quickly and I wonder if it may be the issue, I have the Foam Birth Threshold set to 2.0m should this lower or higher? I have attached a test render and my settings. Any help would be much appreciated.
    The scene Unit size is 1Unit = 1 meter -3DSmax 2020 Phoenix FD v4.20

    Thanks

    Dave

    Hey,

Foam is born where the liquid movement is turbulent and if the difference in velocity between two neighbor voxels is higher than the foam birth threshold, foam particles should be born.

So try to lower the threshold and you should get some foam. You can find more about the foam settings here - https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/PHX4MAX/Liquid+Foam

Be careful, though! If you lower the Foam threshold too low you can get a TON of particles. I used up like 180GB of RAM one time setting that too high, LOL. Easy to swamp your machine if you're not careful.
