  • How to remove internal meshing?

    Hi!

Got an issue with an underwater scene, I am happy with the sim overall but there are problems with the meshing when it submerges. I get these big bubble meshes hanging on to my object. I have tried using cutters and looking up other solutions with no luck.

Any suggestions to resolve this issue?

    Hey,

These look like air pockets around the geometry, which are expected when it splashes quickly. Please verify that the Clear Inside option of the submerging geometry is OFF - this might help it somewhat.

    Cheers!

      Hi!

Thanks for the quick reply. I didn't realize one could adjust the settings for the Liquid sim itself through the properties, I think I just assumed all of the relevant options were bundled up in the Modify panel, and that the properties were for objects not native to Phoenix. I will try a resim and see if it gets better

      Thanks again!

        Hi again,

Sadly it seems to have made no difference. Got any other tips to reduce the issue?

        best regards

I have solved this with a Volume Select Modifier to select the underwater area, and a Delete Mesh modifier on the simulator.

There’s was one case that didn’t work with the release version (I think ocean mesh mode), but this is fixed in the nightly builds.

Yess, a render time solution like this will be easiest.and quickest!

Oh, it helps to disable both the modifiers in the viewport. Because they really slow stuff down.

That is great advice Joelaff, again I just didn't think these things were possible as I looked at the whole simulator as a black box. This opens up a lot of possibilities! Thanks for taking the time to reply, much appreciated!
