  • Blending two meshes

So, I'm doing a sim inside a tank and I really only need to sim the upper layer, I do not need the lower 50cm, which would only make it take forever. Is there a way where I can mix a static mesh for the bottom with a dynamic phoenix fluid for the top? If I just add eg. a box to the scene and give them the same material, I can see the different edges inside each other. Is there a way to get around this or what is the correct way to do it?

    Hey,

That's a bit tricky thing to do as you need to merge the two meshes together.

Eventually you can try to export the Phoenix liquid mesh as alembic (you need to go to Export rollout of the simulator and enable the Mesh output) and then merge this using the box using a boolean for example.

    Hope this helps!

That just seems like a new bunch of problems. Re-sim it is then.
