  • Phoenix Grid texture

    Hello !

I have an issue with two liquids blending thanks to the Phoenix Grid Texture, the first frames both liquids appears black...

I've tried to rescale the grid channel but with no luck. Any idea ?

PS : with a classic refractive material, everything works fine

    Thank you in advance

    Hey,

Can you give us a bit more info where do you plug the Grid texture and what type of material are you using?

Can you show us a screenshot of your material editor connections?

    Thanks!

Ah, if you wish to mix transparent liquids, the fog color won't do the job as it works correctly only on the surface of the mesh, but the depth won't be mapped correctly.

What you can do instead is to create the liquid mesh based on the color of the particles and then shade it. Here is a video of how this works - https://youtu.be/jfE66K-vqYE

Removing the fog texture resolved my issue, thanks !

I've watched the video, this fantastic for fine tuning the materials !! Does it work with VRay GPU also ?

Yes, this approach should be working with V-Ray GPU, though you have be careful with the point where the two liquids touch each other as there won't be a smooth gradient between them.
If you have two transparent liquids you might get away with it, but this will be quite visible with two solid materials.
