  • Phoenix Smoke/Clouds single frame export

Hello! I'm quite new in the forum and generally i started to use phoenix quite recently, so im sorry if my question would sound a bit silly.
Im testing some clouds created with the smoke simulation and im trying to understand how to export a single frame of the animation in order to have a sort of ''preset'' geometry that i can use to work.

I tried to follow some tutorials but i couldnt find nothing that answers this question, or maybe i looked in the wrong places

    Any idea? thanks in advance!

    Hey,

When Phoenix runs a simulation it stores it in cache files representing each timeline frame. You can find where the cache files are stored in the Output rollout of your Phoenix simulator.

If you wish to use a single cache file that you like through the whole timeline you need to go to the Input rollout and set the mode to Cache index and set the Direct cache index to the frame that you like. You can find more about the Input modes here - https://docs.chaos.com/display/PHX4M...meBendControls

If you wish to transfer the cloud that you like to another PC, just copy the cache file and load it in a new Phoenix simulator.

    Hope this helps!
