  • Phoenix Ocean Error with fast Camera motion

Whenever I animate a camera in 3ds Max that is moving quickly with the Phoenix Ocean in view, I get strange blackness coming into frame along the edges or even most of the frame if the camera moves fast enough from sky down to the ocean. I thought maybe it could be a motion blur problem, but I turned it off and the blackness is still there except now they have no motion blur either. The ocean is set to Pure Ocean also. No simulation required for my renders. Just needed to have the sense of flying over water very quickly. I am rendering with V-ray and I am wondering if there is some sort of quality option that needs to be turned up on the ocean or within the render settings?

Any ideas what is going on? The attached image shows the blackness leaking into the bottom portion of the image and bottom half of of the sides.

Hey, yes, please increase the Off-Screen Margin (%) option in the Rendering rollout - check the info here for a more detailed explanation why you need to do this: https://docs.chaos.com/display/PHX4MAX/Liquid+Rendering
