Hi, I'm having issues setting up an active bodies boat on the surface of a liquid simulation. The scene includes a teacup with the mesh inside set as the initial fill liquid and the boat sitting in position on top of the mesh. When the simulation starts, the boat floats upwards for about 50 frames and then crashes back down to the liquid mesh. I've attached a couple screen shots from various frames. Any help/ideas on what's causing this? Thanks.

Hello,
I hope this finds you well! I have a couple of suggestions for you that I hope will help.
First, it’s important to make sure that the geometries are closed and do not have any issues. This includes both the ship geometry and the cup geometry as well. You can check your geometries using the 3ds Max STL Check modifier. Make sure they have no errors, or otherwise, geometries with a hole or other errors can cause problems when simulating.
Next, the Center of Mass plays an important role and can be a culprit for such issues. For the ship, you can play around with the location of its Center of Mass gizmo to see how that changes the behavior. Make sure that you also enable the checkbox called “Override Center of Mass” in the Chaos Phoenix properties menu as well here:
https://docs.chaos.com/display/PHX4M...ies-Parameters.
For example, try placing the Center of Mass at the central base of the ship, since a ship would usually be bottom-heavy. You can see an active body setup for a ship we did here in our Active Bodies guide, where we placed its Center of Mass at the central base:
https://docs.chaos.com/display/PHX4M...e+Bodies+Guide
If you have tried all of the suggestions above and the problem still persists, another consideration here is the grid resolution. The lower the grid resolution, the higher chance the active body will get strongly affected by small disturbances, so you want to make sure it has a high enough resolution as well.
If these suggestions do not help, I’ll likely need more information, including which version of Phoenix you are using, and potentially we’ll need to take a look at the scene.
For now I hope this information is helpful
