  • Foam still rendering darker on GPU

Just updated to Vray 6 and Phoenix 5. Been a while since I've tried to render foam on GPU but I figured this issue would have been ironed out by now. I realise CPU and GPU renders are never 1:1 but the foam still renders on GPU looking grey where as it looks white on CPU. Is there any reason for this?

If it were just a difference between the two that could be fixed by tweaking settings it would be fine, but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to make the GPU foam any brighter, and it actually just looks incorrect. It makes water look like dirty water. Can we get a fix for this? its been a few years now.

    Hey Greg,

Indeed the bubbles shading with V-Ray GPU is still work in progress. The behavior you get is expected for the moment and as you have noticed needs a bit more love to get a result closer to the CPU one.

Sadly I can't tell how soon we would be able to get an improved version, but is high in out priority list.

    Cheers!

Ah okay. I feel like this should be reflected in the ‘supported features’ page as the wording at present implies it’s fully functional. I tend to find I can’t use it as it currently is without some extra compositing work to get it looking right
