  • Rendering Crashes When Phoenix Set to Not Preview Caches

This is a weird one. I am going to eventually find the scene…

I had a scene (actually some version of the scene I just sent regarding the particle shader rendering in standalone when hidden) where vray would crash when rendering if Phoenix was set to not preview caches.

If I turn the preview back on it would work fine. There was only one or two frames where this happened. The rest of the animation would render fine. I know it crashed in standalone. I believe it crashed when rendering in Max as well, but not in IPR mode.

Like I said, I will try to find the version of the scene with the issue, but that was a strange one. Just wanted to get you thinking about that while I try to track down the scene, in case something came to mind right away.

Ah, this would be very important to fix - so far we haven't had such issues in that area of the code, so it's not something known or suspected...
