  • Phoenix is not saving my sim's after 3d max restart

I have the latest version of Phoenix and vray. When I restart 3d Max my sim is not saved. Does anyone have any idea what the issue is?

    Hey,

Could you describe your steps in more detail? Did you save your 3ds Max scene? Did you do any changes to the paths in the Input or Output rollouts of the Simulator?

    Cheers!

thank you for your reply, when saving my sims in the output dropdown menu I do the normal steps browse then select folder to save. When I restart max, the folder and files are gone.

So in the Output rollout you choose where to save the cache files from your simulation. Then you actually start the Simulation process and as it goes, Phoenix writes the cache files. But also don't forget to save the Max scene itself. Also please note that you should only change the Output path if you want the cache files to go into some certain directory - otherwise by default Phoenix would write them right next to the Max scene file when you run the simulation.
