  • strange issue with yacht foam

    Hello,

Im doing an yacht simulation just for fun and learning purpose.

On the right side of the boat the foam makes this strange issues
despite in the preview it works fine.

Do you know what might be?
On the left side everything is ok...the boat is symmetrical...
There are no hidden objects etc. etc. We did many test but no way to change those artifacts...

    Many thanks

    Hey,

    Indeed, this looks quite strange.

Which version of Phoenix are you using?

Are you using any Count multiplier above 1 in the Particle Shader by any chance? If you do - how about if you set it to 1?
Does the issue reproduce if you hide the foam and leave only the water?

Btw - is the yacht mesh a closed one (in order for the simulation to work properly you need shelled geometry with no single faces, no open edges, no overlapping faces) ? If your run an STL check modifier over it - there should be no errors.

      The version is 2021

Count multiplier is set to 1
If we hide foam water is ok
Mesh is ok according to STL

      Many thanks

Ah - 2021 is the version of 3ds Max. You can find the version of Phoenix in the top PhoenixFD menu here - https://docs.chaos.com/display/PHX4M...ng-Environment

If you're using a version older than Phoenix 5.20 - can you please update the try to render again?

Is it possible to send us the scene along with the simulation cache so that we can see where the problem is?

        Thanks!

You can either attach them here through a google drive, dropbox or a similar service or if the files are private you can submit them through the support system here - https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us

There is a button at the top right "Submit a request".

            Thanks a lot!
