  • Liquid Motion Blur - Play Speed

    Hi!

When changing a liquids Play Speed the Velocity channel wont keep up it seems. With Play Speed set to 0,5 i only get motion blur every other frame.

Both Grid and Particle velocity is enebled in the Output rollout.

    Any ideas?

    Hello Martin,

Can you check if all the simulation caches containt grid velocity? Sounds like it might be missing for some of them.

You can check if a cache has grid velocity inside of it by goint to the Simulation rollout of the Phoenix simulator and checking the Cache File Content info at the bottom.

If all of the caches have the grid velocity channel - then it's probably something else that is causing the issue and we will need a bit more info - is it Max or Maya, which versions of Phoenix and V-Ray are you using.

    Thanks!

      Hello Georgi,

Every frame contains Grid Velocity. Maybe the values are too extreme? Some frames has values around 4000.

The Velocity on the inbetween frames is getting an offset for some reason:

      Thanks!

Hmm, can you try updating the Phoenix build to 5.22 - we have added some fixes related to the Velocity channel and this might solve it.

In case it is still bad even with 5.22 - can you send over the scene along with a few cache files so that we can check what is going on? You can send it via support.chaos.com (submit a request at top right)

        Thanks!
