  • Export Particles To PRT Missing?

    I can no longer find the Export Particles to PRT option. This is pretty much a must have, especially with Krakatoa no longer being actively supported we need a way to export particles to PRT. I tried re-running the resgister menus script, but it looks like that is not in the script.

    Using Phoenix 5.21.01 Nightly, Build ID: 2024052432605 for 3ds Max 2023 from May 24 2024
    Do I need to upgrade?

    Thoughts? Thanks.

    Hey,

    We haven't removed it - it should still be there. How about reinstalling the build or getting a newer one?
    There are no changes related to this functionality but some menu script might have gone missing somehow.

    Alternatively with the simulator selected you should be able to use the MaxScript function

    PHXShowExportParticlesDialog()

    Cheers!

      Thanks. I’ll try the latest nightly. Need to update anyway.

      Also, thanks for the function name. Is there a list of these function names someplace? I was trying to figure out how I might call it directly like that.

        In stalled the latest nightly, but the menu is still not there. I should be able to select the simulator, and then right click in the view and see it in the quad menu, right?

          Note that "C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\Phoeni x3dsMax2023\scripts\PhoenixFDMenuRegister.ms" does not include code to register that function.

            Indeed, there seems to be a bug related to this menu, we rerpoduced it on our side.

            As a workaround you can try to install the official Phoenix 5.21 build, then install 5.22 and it should work.

            As for the MaxScript functions - most of the parameters in the docs have the MaxScript name in italic. In the example below smoke_bcy is the MaxScript parameter that controls the option.

            Smoke Buoyancy | smoke_bcy – The buoyancy of the smoke. Positive values make the smoke move upwards. Negative values make it move downwards.
