  • GPU Distributed rendering issue, only first frame renders.

Hello, I am having a weird issue with Phoenix and distributed rendering. I am rendering some steam in a glass box. Hopefully someone can help.

First time trying to render with Phoenix and GPU DR.

    I am running:

    3dsmax 2025 latest
    VRay 7.00.04 latest
    PhoenixFD latest

All nodes have the same software version and can access the cache files specified in 'Input - Preview & Render Cache Path' to a unc network path.

I am network rendering with GPU.
The first frame in a range will always render the steam successfully.
All subsequent frames will render the glass box without steam.

The VRay GPU node log box (on the render node) shows that the plugin finds and loads the cache without error.

I have tried rendering with local host disabled. 1, 2 or 3 nodes, no difference.

Anyone know a fix for this?

Does it happen when rendering locally (no DR)? Otherwise, best you send the scene so we can troubleshoot.

Hey Aleksandar thanks for your help. I've done a bit more testing.

Rendering locally (no DR) works 100%.

If I turn off the geometry (vray glass material) that surrounds the steam, then DR works and renders the steam 100%.

I see. Send the ticket number after you've sent the scene so I can troubleshoot it.
