Hi all,
I typed this as I was doing tests and the results are making me think I should be putting this in the Corona forum instead but I'd rather have as many eyes on this as possible.
I've simulated an infinity pool and it ran with no issues at all.
However, it's taking ages to render.
Some info:
Using Max 2025 and the latest version of Corona and Phoenix.
Doing a 1920x1080 test down to 6% noise
The material I'm using for the water is one we've used multiple times in the past with no issue.
Pool ON with splash & foam ON = 20mins to get to pass 5 - 1hr 56min estimate remaining
Pool ON with splash & foam OFF = 10mins to get to pass 5 - 58min estimate remaining
Pool OFF = 2mins to get to pass 5 - 10min estimate remaining
Putting a default corona physical material on the pool
Pool ON with splash & foam ON = 2mins to get to pass 5 - 3min estimate remaining
Setting the material to water using the preset
Pool ON with splash & foam ON = 5mins to get to pass 5 - 25min estimate remaining
-----
I tried this pool (just the phoenix stuff) in a job from a year ago and it renders absolutely fine even with using the material that was taking 1-2hrs to render.
The only other difference is that we used to work in meter scale, we've now moved to cm - simulating (phoenix & tyflow) work much better in cm I find.
However, I created the following and did some interactive tests:
I'm relieved that it doesn't actually seem to be the Phoenix sim but that doesn't help me because of the rendering issue.
Thanks

However, I created the following and did some interactive tests:
- A blank cm scene & merged in this pool
- it was taking quite a while to get a good interactive render
- putting more opaque materials on the pool sped things up
- A blank meter scene & merged in this pool
- I had no issue with rendering this at all.
I'm relieved that it doesn't actually seem to be the Phoenix sim but that doesn't help me because of the rendering issue.
Thanks
